Random non-furry person discovers furries; empathy and hyperbole result:

Did the African Americans not fight for their rights? Did they not win? Who do we know that have been fighting for equal rights recently? Homosexuals. And they’re winning their war. So who’s to say the furries aren’t next in line to rise up and make their presence known? Who can say that within the next twenty years furries won’t be treated as equal as African Americans and homosexuals?

And FTW:

As I said, I am not a furry. I am a straight human.

Suspend your disbelief for a moment, and suppose – hypothetically – that, once upon a time, dragons really existed. The majestic, wise, and terrible creatures of myth were not mythical at all.

Eventually, the dragons all died, but their souls continued to exist, and eventually were reborn into human bodies. Some of the dragon-souled somehow came to realize their true nature, and made contact with others of their kind. There are now a few hundred of them, and they are in almost constant communication.

What would these people be like? Great statesmen, thinkers, and artists? Would they use their ancient wisdom and noble nature to become influential, wealthy, and powerful leaders of mankind and usher in a Golden Age of peace and prosperity?

We’re informed that yesterday was the fifth anniversary of the crushyiffdestroy.com domain name. Though we still have until early June to celebrate the opening of the forums which most of the drama has been about, the first of our articles was around a bit before the domain, and I didn’t think to mention it until today… anyway, enjoy. I’m sure those malcontents vibrating with anger at the thought that I still haven’t managed to kill the place can take a little pleasure at pretending it’s been five solid years of gritted teeth while we masturbate and tell ourselves that furries actually aren’t awesome and we’re much cooler. I will personally draw a touch of amusement at the fact that we’ve managed to outlast both the furry-hating meme at SA, Xydexx, and everyone else who strongly aligned against us in our early years.

Here’s to another five years of being the permanent thorn in the side of brittle, humorless self-absorbed furries. Here’s to me not being around when that next anniversary rolls past. Here’s to Bacardi Zombie.

Verix’s essay on the state of furry “fandom” was a topic we covered the other day here. I know reading comprehension isn’t high among some of the animal fans (we’re typefucking at a third grade level here), but we were surprised at how many willfully misunderstood the intent of the essay and our writeup of it.

So a much expanded article was arguably called for. In the interest of the furry public, we’re running with it and hosting the essay after the jump. If it seems obvious, that’s because it is, and spare a thought for the people who don’t believe it.
